It's easier for two is a Belgian-French television film by the director Emilie Deleuze from 2009. With Maïté Maillé, who worked mainly as an actress until 2004, Deleuze also wrote the script for the tragicomedy.

Two people who couldn't be more different, played by Michel Galabru and Luce Radot, form a flat-sharing community in the center of Paris and have to struggle with considerable generational conflicts.

action

The odd pensioner Joseph lives in his half-sister's condominium and has to get used to a roommate again in old age. His hard-hearted and contentious sister insists on her right to terminate Joseph's lease in the event of a breach of contract. The three-room apartment in the center of Paris is too big for a single elderly man, she says. Under no circumstances does he want to leave his Parisian neighborhood or move into a retirement home. Since the agency couldn't find a male subtenant for him, Joseph is forced to take in the funky Marilyn. She will soon begin training as a make-up artist especially for horror films. Joseph reacts negatively and avoids contact as much as possible. Unreasonably he insists on old habits. But when they both realize they like the same TV series, the ice begins to melt. They even go for a stroll through town.

Marilyn also found a connection to her apprenticeship and her models received recognition. So your new life in the big city will be bearable. On the street, she meets the daredevil Vincent. When Marilyn doesn’t come home from a movie one night, Joseph is so worried that he even calls in the police. The worry is unfounded, but Joseph is furious and slaps his protégé. Marilyn is not aware of any guilt and immediately leaves the apartment to live with her boyfriend. Since Vincent is nowhere to be found and apparently played the wrong game, she has to return to Joseph. You only talk about the bare minimum.

As a gesture of reconciliation, she invites him to her graduation ceremony. Joseph is touched and accepts the invitation. His sister Madeleine has since sold the condominium. While Marilyn begins an internship in Paris, Joseph moves into a retirement home in Normandy, but the two stay in contact.
