Facing place
The Affected Places were territories that were linked to the Old Confederation by a system of treaties.
The old confederation was an extremely heterogeneous structure. Apart from the Diet, it had no central institutions; Rather, it consisted of a complex web of bilateral and multilateral alliances and power relationships. All those federal areas that were neither full members (such as the Thirteen Old Places ) nor subject areas were designated as associated places .
Behind the year of the alliance are the alliance-affiliated federal locations.
