The Holy Family in Berchtesgaden district Oberau in Bavaria , which is the parish church of the Roman Catholic parish of Holy Family Au in Pfarrverband Stiftland Berchtesgaden , Berchtesgaden Dean's Office in the Archdiocese of Munich and Freising . The now listed church based on plans by Franz Rank was consecrated in 1908.

Buildings and history

The Church of the Holy Family was built in 1907–1908 based on a design by Franz Rank in the then still independent community of Au bei Berchtesgaden. The altar, donated by Prince Regent Luitpold of Bavaria , was created by Theodor Kolmsperger, the altarpiece and Leonhard altar by Waldemar Kolmsperger junior. The owner of the Hofbrauhaus Berchtesgaden , Rudolf Kriss senior, father of Rudolf Kriss jun. donated the organ. The iron grating in the church comes from the Berchtesgaden collegiate church .

It is the parish church of the Heilige Familie Au parish .

The Parish Holy Family Au maintains next to the parish church in the Restener settlement Buchenhöhe the Francis Church as a branch church . The parish belonged to the parish association Marktschellenberg until 2015 together with St. Nikolaus and its branch and pilgrimage church of the Visitation (Ettenberg) in Marktschellenberg . On November 1st, 2015 the parish association Stiftsland Berchtesgaden was founded, to which the three parishes St. Andreas Berchtesgaden , St. Nikolaus Marktschellenberg and Holy Family Au merged, and which was extended on June 1st, 2019 to include the parish Herz Jesu Bischofswiesen .
