Zvonimir Ankovic (* 1972 in Kaiserslautern ) is a German - Croatian actor .

Life

Ankovic is of Croatian origin. He completed his acting training from 1994 to 1998 at the Stuttgart University of Music and Performing Arts in Stuttgart .

From 1997 he played at the Staatstheater Stuttgart , where he was part of the ensemble from 1998 to 2009 after completing his acting studies. He later continued to appear there as a guest until 2012. His Stuttgart roles included a. a. Simon in Trainspotting (1998, directed by Henning Bock ), Michael in the play Leben ein Tanz by Brian Friel (1999, directed by Elias Perrig ), the police master in Der Revisor (2004, directed by Volker Lösch ), Bill in Dogville (2005 , Director: Volker Lösch), Cridle in Die heilige Johanna der Schlachthöfe (2006/2007, Director: Volker Lösch), Jack in Manderley (2008/2009, Director: Volker Lösch) and Jochanaan in Salome (2009, Director: Ulrich Rasche ) .

In 2001 he played the role of lover Kalil in the world premiere of the play The Arabian Night by Roland Schimmelpfennig . In 2002 he took over the Francis in the German-language premiere of the play In der Fernsten Ferne by Zinnie Harris (2002, director: Dimiter Gotscheff ). At the Staatstheater Stuttgart he also worked with the directors Elmar Goerden , Wilfried Minks , Sebastian Nübling , Stephan Kimmig and Hasko Weber .

Ankovic also took on several film and television roles. In Ludwigshafen's Tatort: ​​Der Schrei (first broadcast: October 2010) he played the suspect Jarek Tasev, a role that he took over from the originally planned fellow actor Pero Radicic . In Tatort: ​​LU (first broadcast: December 2015) he also had a supporting role as “Parkatyp” Ronnie Bucher.

In October 2017, the ZDF series SOKO Stuttgart also starred as Boris Vasic in an episode lead role; he played the partner of an aging Stuttgart travesty artist .

Ankovic, who states that he speaks Croatian , Serbian and Palatinate in addition to German , lives in Cologne and Kaiserslautern, where he runs a café and bistro (with restaurant ). He has a basic knowledge of the English language.
