The Twelve Summit View is a 602 m high hill in the Fichtel Mountains ( Bavaria ) with great views .
Location and surroundings
The Zwölfgipfelblick is a hill in the Upper Franconian district of Wunsiedel in the Fichtelgebirge immediately north of the municipality of Röslau on the Selb-Wunsiedler plateau in the interior of the Fichtelgebirge horseshoe . Twelve mountain peaks of the Fichtelgebirge can be seen from here: Großer Kornberg , Epprechtstein , Großer Waldstein , Rudolfstein , Schneeberg , Nußhardt , Seehügel , Platte , Hohe Matze , Kosseine , Großer Haberstein and Burgstein . It is therefore considered to be the geographical center of the Fichtelgebirge.
The flat hill consists mainly of agricultural areas, there are smaller groups of trees near the summit.
history
For a long time, the hill was important for the Röslau water supply. On top of it stood a water container, which supplied the house connections with drinking water due to the natural gradient. After the water container was abandoned, teacher Wunderlich created a small park with confirmands in 1953. In 1992, the municipality of Röslau set up a granite rock here , adorned with an octagonal stone slab made of blue Kosseine granite . This bears the inscription "Center of the Fichtelgebirge Röslau" and the river names "Main, Saale, Eger and Naab".
