Kallwass intervenes! ( formerly Zwei bei Kallwass ) is a pseudo-documentary show moderated by Angelika Kallwass . The program mainly deals with topics from psychology and life counseling.

action

Usually the moderator worked as a mediator between two people who had to resolve a conflict; often there were also "two-on-one" or "two-on-two" constellations; Larger groups were less often in the studio. In contrast to the actual confidential practice of mediation, the sessions on the show were held in a hall with spectators, similar to a court hearing.

The problems discussed were often relationship problems between couples . Conflicts within the family were also presented in every conceivable constellation, but also neighborhood disputes, school problems and criminal offenses .

In the course of the discussion, at the climax of the tension created , a dramaturgical twist usually took place - for example, that the initial victim had partly contributed to the conflict himself, which only emerged in the course of the discussion, or that a fact became known about the problem in a completely different light.

Production and broadcast

The program was initially recorded with people actually affected, but this did not bring the desired audience ratings. Actors were used just four weeks after the broadcast began; then the ratings got better. Actors without any acting training were often used.

Since the beginning of the recording, the program has been produced by the production company filmpool , which also developed the format. The set was in Studio 1 of NOBEO GmbH in Hürth near Cologne. From May 2, 2011, Zwei was broadcast on Kallwass in widescreen format 16: 9 . Since November 5, 2001, the program has been broadcast Monday to Friday (from May 2004 to November 2009; from January 2010 also on Saturdays) at 2 p.m. on Sat.1 .

In December 2012 it was announced that the program would be given a completely new design or concept and that it will intervene from mid-January 2013 with the title Kallwass! to run. On February 19, 2013, Sat.1 announced that the last new episode would be shown on March 28, 2013, but the station was working on a new format with Angelika Kallwass. Again, on March 5, 2013, it was announced that the program will be broadcast for the last time on Friday, March 8.

Since January 2013, the Sat.1 sister station Sat.1 Gold has been showing repeats of the series in the daily afternoon program.

Others

The perfecto mix of Unfinished Sympathy by the British band Massive Attack is used as a jingle on the show .
