Chris Tarry is a Canadian born electric bass player born in Swift Current, Saskatchewan on Aug 24th, 1970 and is considered by many to be one of Canada's top electric bass players.

Chris came to prominence in 1996 though his involvement with the Juno Award winning jazz group Metalwood featuring Mike Murley, Ian Froman and Brad Turner. His success as Metalwood's bass player lead to many different album appearances as a sideman and gained him national recognition throughout Canada.

Since 1993 Chris has also led his own jazz group called "The Chris Tarry Group" and has released eight solo albums under that name. The band's latest recording, 2007's "Almost Certainly Dreaming" features New York musicans Pete McCann, Dan Weiss, Henry Hey, Canadian saxophonist Kelly Jefferson, and is released on the American record label Nineteen Eight Records.
