The Hollywood Music in Media Awards (HMMA) honors music in film, TV, video games, commercials and trailers. Nominees are determined by an advisory board and selection committee that includes journalists, music executives, songwriters and composers. Winners are chosen by select members of the Society of Composers & Lyricists, the Academy of Television Arts, the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences' music branch, the National Academy of Recording Arts and performing-rights organizations, as well as film-music journalists and music executives.[1] 2016 nominees were announced in November 2.[2] According to The Hollywood Reporter, the award show is "one of the better predictors of the best original score and best original song Golden Globe and Oscar categories."[1]
