DelaDap (formerly also ! DelaDap and ! Deladap ) is an Austrian music project with the personal and creative constant Stani Vana. Initially Vana worked with international musicians from the Czech Republic , Serbia , Bosnia and Herzegovina and Russia ; the creative approach was to combine Roma music with jazz , electronic music and pop music . With the album "I Know What You Want" (2012), "Dela Dap" turned to danceable, urban pop music with elements of club culture and global folklore.
Band history
The name DelaDap is Romani and means "give me the beat". The Prague- born producer Stani Vana developed the idea for the music project before 2002 and toured Europe from 2003 to 2005 with the Hungarian drummer Endre Hoffmann, the Slovak violinist Stefan "Pizzur" Banyak and the Serbian guitarist Aleksander Stoijc.
These two years of intensive tours before the second album Dela Paji , which was released in 2006, had a significant influence on the music, as various guest musicians from Central and Eastern Europe bring their individual style to the project on the album. The singer Leonsia Erdenko and some musicians from the Russian-Ukrainian gypsy formation Loyko recorded pieces with DelaDap in Moscow . The Bulgarian accordionist Martin Lubenov also made contributions, and the Czech-born saxophonist and producer Philip Noha ( Frank Popp Ensemble ) from Cologne arranged the Slavic traditional “golden rain” together with Stani Vana.
The live ensemble was expanded in 2006 to include the two Roma singers Eva Banyakova from Bratislava and Simona Senkiova from Prague as well as the Slovak double bass player Dezider "Dezo" Rigo. In January 2007, singer Eva Banyakova gave birth to her first child. Romni Kristina Gunarova from Prague has been on tour with DelaDap since autumn 2006 in her place . The Bosnian accordionist Alen “Djamba” Dzambic and the Montenegro-born double bass player Jovan Torbica, who replaced Dezider Rigo, also joined the live formation. At the beginning of 2008, the violinist Pavel Shalman, who had previously played with Russkaja , became part of the band. In 2012 DelaDap, now with singer Melinda Stoika , took part in Austria rocks the Song Contest , the national qualification for the Eurovision Song Contest in Baku . The title was disqualified when a mobile phone video of a Vana and Stoika DJ set surfaced on YouTube showing an early version of the song Crazy Swing from a club gig in Odessa before the prescribed earliest release date. The band then went into the elimination with the replacement title Don't Turn Around . In the same year, DelaDap's fourth album I Know What You Want was released and was nominated again for the Amadeus Awards (2013) . From 2013 to 2014, the Viennese singer Tania Saedi joined the band as the successor to Stoika . Yola B , previously heard as a guest, has been the band's singer since 2014 and Noma D.
On July 11, 2014, the music video for the song Listen Up celebrated its world premiere in Erla / Austria. This one-shot video was created together with the Erla music association . The band DelaDap drives an Excalibur Series II Roadster , a luxury car built according to plans from the 1970s, through the Donauau of Erla. At the end of the video the band meets the Musikverein Erla, which carries the song's message, after all, in the chorus it is not for nothing: “This is DelaDap!”, Into the whole world.
Listen Up is DelaDap's most successful video on YouTube after Crazy Swing .
DelaDap first published ecco chamber on Daniel Hantigk's Viennese label , then on his successor Chat Chapeau in the distribution of Soulseduction , which went bankrupt in 2008. Since then, sales have been carried out by Hoanzl and PopDisl . In January 2008, Mr. Hantigk ended his job as head of the label, since then the label Chat Chapeau has been run by Stani Vana.
