Tania Saedi (* 1976 in Tehran , Iran ), on her solo releases SAEDI , is an Austrian musician, vocalist and composer.

As the daughter of an Iranian and an Austrian, who initially grew up in Tehran, Saedi and her family moved to Austria in 1980. She came to music at an early age, not least through her brother Sasha, who is also a musician and works in music production . After initially studying chemistry, she studied jazz singing from 1997 at the University of Music and Performing Arts Graz and in the USA with Mark Murphy , Fritz Pauer , Sheila Jordan and Michele Hendricks, among others . First appearances followed in New York, San Francisco and Los Angeles with Marcus Shelby and Andrew Hendrix, for example . She received further training and coaching from Dave Stroud, the former CEO of Speech Level Singing , in Los Angeles. She completed her studies in Graz in 2004.

Since the early 2000s she has established herself as a singer in the Viennese and Graz electronic music scene and works as a vocal coach and speaker. In 2001 she was involved in the debut album of the producer team UKO (Jürgen and Martin Nussbaum), which was nominated as FM4 -Alternative Act of the Year for the Amadeus Austrian Music Award and on which her title Automatic appeared. Other projects in which she participated, where the musical variety and variety is important to her, were vocal parts in Georg Altziebler / bloom 05 ( Stills and Honey , 2001), Mauracher (vocals on the Austria tour 2004), Bloc Business , with who toured China in 2005, Phonix , Violetta Parisini , Big John and Iris Camaa . In 2004 she contributed the vocal parts of two tracks to the Pumali Panthers album , In Style and In Rhythm was discovered by Tom Jones , then licensed and recorded by him on the album 24 Hours (2008). From 2008 she sang in the band with Anna F. , with whom she also supported Lenny Kravitz on his 2009 European tour. In the same year she published as Tania Saedi aka SistaSadie with Alien Entertainment EP sex appeal . Also in 2009 she took part in the sound: frame festival for audiovisual art in Vienna with UKO . As "The Sista Sadie Life Show" they presented several pieces at brut in the Künstlerhaus , which, according to the annual motto of the festival "EVOLUTION REMIXED!", By artists such as Alek Kawka , channel-f , Didi Bruckmayr ( waxolutionists ), Harald Hund , Karuan , Ken Hayakawa , Tanja Lepschi , TOMAK and others have been remixed visually and acoustically / musically . The album of the same name, produced by Patrick Pulsinger and with Hund's photo montages on the cover, was released in 2011.

After she won Markus Kienzl ( Sofa Surfers ), to whose album Density (2009) she contributed the title Lullaby , as producer, she recorded her album Exhale . The pieces wrote and composed and she herself piano. In April 2011, Exhale , with TOMAK's graphics from the collaboration at the sound: frame festival in the artwork, was published and subsequently presented live at WUK and during a subsequent tour of Austria, including at the Danube Island Festival . Saedi was thus “Band of the Month” in the FM4 Soundpark in April 2011, was 36th in the international annual charts of the station and was nominated for the FM4 Award at the Amadeus Austrian Music Award 2012 . In January 2012 she took part in the Eurosonic Noorderslag Festival in Groningen.

With her own program, Saedi performs live with a band, solo on the piano or in a duet with the guitarist Daniel Kern, with whom she has been working since 2008, or her brother Sasha Saedi. From 2013 to 2014 she was the singer of the band ! DelaDap . She appears as a guest singer at concerts with the Sofa Surfers and the Sofa Surfers Sound System, as well as regularly with Budapest Bár .
