(11051) Racine is an asteroid of the main belt , which on 15 November 1990 by the Belgian astronomer Eric Walter Elst at the La Silla Observatory ( IAU code 809) of the European Southern Observatory in Chile was discovered.
The asteroid was named on September 28, 1999 after the French playwright Jean Racine (1639–1699), who in France is one of the most important authors of French classical music and the greatest tragedy author alongside or even before Pierre Corneille .
