(13028) Klaustschira is an asteroid of the main belt that was discovered on April 5, 1989 by the German amateur astronomer Michael Geffert at the La Silla Observatory of the European Southern Observatory ( IAU code 809) in Chile .

The asteroid was named on July 26, 2000 after the German entrepreneur Klaus Tschira (1940-2015), who in 1972 was one of the founders of the software company SAP .
