(15817) Lucianotesi is a near-Earth asteroid of the Cupid type , which was discovered on August 28, 1994 by the Italian astronomers Andrea Boattini and Maura Tombelli at the Osservatorio Astronomico della Montagna Pistoiese ( IAU code 104) in San Marcello Pistoiese .

The asteroid was named after the Italian astronomer and successful asteroid explorer Luciano Tesi (* 1931).
