(167) Urda is an asteroid of the main belt that was discovered on August 28, 1876 by the German-American astronomer Christian Heinrich Friedrich Peters .

The asteroid was named after Urd , one of the Norns from Norse mythology .

In 1905 the Austrian astronomer Johann Palisa discovered that the asteroid changes in brightness.

Photometric observations of this asteroid in 2007 and 2008 at the Palmer Divide Observatory in Colorado Springs, Colorado showed a light curve with a period of 13.06133 ± 0.00002 hours. This S asteroid is a member of the Koronis family of asteroids that share similar orbital elements.

In 2002, from the observations of the midcourse space experiment, an estimate of the diameter of 37.93 ± 3.17 km with an albedo of 0.2523 ± 0.0448 was obtained.
