(2544) Gubarev is an asteroid of the main belt , which was discovered on August 6, 1980 by the Czech astronomer Zdeňka Vávrová at the Kle Observ observatory ( observatory code 046) near the town of Český Krumlov in southern Bohemia .
The asteroid was named after the Soviet cosmonaut Alexei Alexandrovich Gubarew (1931-2015), who took part in missions to the Salyut 4 and Salyut 6 space stations .
