(2575) Bulgaria is a main belt asteroid of the spectral type Sr, which was discovered on August 4, 1970 by the Soviet astronomer Tamara Mikhailovna Smirnova at the Crimean Observatory in Nautschnyj ( IAU code 095) in the Ukraine . It was named after the country Bulgaria . At the time it was named, the People's Republic of Bulgaria was a member of the Warsaw Pact and a satellite state of the Soviet Union .
