(328305) Jackmcdevitt is an asteroid of the main middle belt discovered on October 20, 2006 by the American astronomer Lawrence Wassermann at the Kitt Peak National Observatory ( IAU code 695) in Arizona .

(328305) Jackmcdevitt was named after the American science fiction author Jack McDevitt (* 1935) on February 22, 2016 at the suggestion of Lawrence Wassermann .
