(3534) Sax is an asteroid of the main belt discovered on December 15, 1936 by the Belgian astronomer Eugène Joseph Delporte at the Royal Observatory of Belgium in Uccle / Ukkel ( IAU code 012).

The asteroid is named after the Belgian inventor and instrument maker Antoine Joseph Adolphe Sax (1814–1894), the inventor of the saxophone .
