(37588) Lynnecox is an asteroid of the main belt , which from the April 15, 1991 American US astronomer Carolyn Shoemaker and her Canadian colleague David H. Levy at Palomar Observatory ( IAU code in 675) California was discovered.
(37588) Lynnecox was named on September 19, 2005 after the American long-distance swimmer and author Lynne Cox (* 1957), who was the first person to swim the Strait of Magellan on the southern tip of Chile .
