(3883) Verbano is an asteroid of the main belt that was discovered on September 7, 1972 by the Russian astronomer Nikolai Stepanowitsch Tschernych at the Crimean Observatory in Nautschnyj ( IAU code 095).
The asteroid was named after the northern Italian lake Lago Verbano , half of which is in Italy and half in the Swiss canton of Ticino .
