(7092) Cadmus is a near-Earth asteroid of the Apollo type , which was discovered on June 4, 1992 by the American astronomers Carolyn Jean Spellmann Shoemaker and Eugene Shoemaker at the Palomar Observatory ( IAU code 675).
The celestial body is named after Kadmos , son of the Phoenician king of Agenor and brother of Europa .
