Leopold von Seeckt

Leopold von Seeckt (born December 3, 1795 - † July 3, 1870 in Nepzin ) was a Pomeranian landowner, civil servant and politician.

Life

His grandfather Friedrich Seeckt came from a noble family from Poland, but could not prove his ancestry. Therefore, he applied for a subsequent ennoblement, which was realized by Emperor Joseph II in 1786. This Friedrich von Seeckt acquired the Moeckow estate in 1781 and the Nepzin estate in 1782. Leopold von Seeckt took over these goods from his father. According to Siebmacher Volume 3 from 1857, the ennoblement was said to have taken place as early as 1766, unfortunately plate 423 with the coat of arms cannot be found there.

Leopold von Seeckt was district administrator for the Greifswald district from 1842 to 1865 . From 1866 until his death he was a member of the Prussian House of Representatives . From 1867 until his death he was also a member of the Reichstag of the North German Confederation for the constituency Stralsund 2 ( Greifswald , Grimmen ). In this capacity he was also a member of the Customs Parliament , which met from 1868 to 1870 . He belonged to the Conservative Party . He was a member of the Greifswald Freemason Lodge Carl zu den Drei Griffin .
