(8103) Fermi is an asteroid of the main belt , which on 19 January 1994 at Farra d'Isonzo-Observatory ( observatory code 595) in the municipality of Farra d'Isonzo in the region of Friuli Venezia Giulia was discovered.

The asteroid was named on February 2, 1999 after the Italian nuclear physicist Enrico Fermi (1901-1954), who was awarded the Nobel Prize in Physics for his research in 1938 and played an important role in the development and construction of the first as an advisor to Robert Oppenheimer Played atomic bombs .
