(9106) Yatagarasu is an asteroid of the main belt , which on January 3, 1997 by the Japanese astronomer Takao Kobayashi at Oizumi Observatory ( IAU code 411) in Oizumi in the Japanese prefecture of Gunma was discovered.
The asteroid was named on May 4, 2004 after Yatagarasu , a kami in Shinto mythology in the shape of a three-legged crow . Since June 3, 1931 ( Shōwa 6) it can also be found on the emblems of the Japan Football Association and the Japanese national football team .
