Location of Çınar within Diyarbakır

Çınar is a town in the district of the same name in the Turkish province of Diyarbakır and at the same time a district of the Büyükşehir belediyesi Diyarbakır (metropolitan municipality / metropolitan province ) formed in 1993 . Çınar is located in the south of the province and borders the provinces of Şanlıurfa and Mardin . In terms of population, Çınar is ranked 8th among the Ilçe population. The name of the city means maple in German and received (according to the logo) in 1937 the status of a Belediye (municipality).
