Çiftlikköy is a city and capital of the district of the same name ( İlçe ) in the Turkish province of Yalova . The city is home to 81 percent of the district's population and is seven kilometers by road east of the provincial capital Yalova on the coast. Çiftlikköy was raised to the rank of municipality ( Belediye ) in June 1987 and is divided into six mahalle (districts).

The district is located in the east of the province and borders on the province of Bursa in the south . In addition to the administrative seat ( Merkez in Turkish ), the district also includes the town of Taşköprü (4,007 inhabitants) and nine villages ( Köy ) with an average of 370 residents. The population numbers range from 692 ( Kılıç ) down to 166 ( Kabaklı ). The proportion of the urban population is 91.49%, the population density is below the provincial average (of 328.2 inh. Per km²).

The district was formed in 1995 from the Bucak Kılıç of the old Yalova district ( Istanbul province ). In the last census before the change of area (1990) this Bucak had 6,898 inhabitants, i.e. 6.08% of the then district population.
