Ölkam is a conscription location in Upper Austria on the outskirts of Linz . It is divided between the cadastral community Mönchgraben in the Ebelsberg district and the cadastral community Gemering , community Sankt Florian .
history
The double circular moat of Ölkam dates from the Middle Neolithic , the animal bones of which suggest an unusually high proportion of red deer in the diet of the Neolithic inhabitants.
Conscription locations like Ölkam were created in 1770 as part of the creation of a new recruiting system under Maria Theresa . In order to be able to record the male, Christian subjects, commissions went through the country and gave the buildings in the individual villages consecutive house numbers. When the house numbers were assigned in 1771, Ölkam comprised 23 houses, the oldest of the houses at that time being from the 14th century. 14 houses of the village were Ölkam the parish of St. Florian by Ebelsberg, 1940, at a recent Umpfarrung seven other buildings of the parish Ebelsberg slammed shut.
