The Austrian men's volleyball championship was held for the 39th time in 2009/10 . The top division is the Austrian 1st Bundesliga , which was contested by twelve teams, three of which were automatically qualified for the play-off. The Hypo Tirol volleyball team became champions for the fourth time .

1st National League

In the first Bundesliga , the top three volleyball man sheep on the play Central European Volleyball League (English Middle European Volleyball Zonal Association ), short (MEVZA) participate in the setting matches in the seedings for the play-off phase. A maximum of ten teams compete against each other in a first round and a second half of the season and a maximum of 18 rounds are played in the basic round.

In the play-off phase, the first eight teams then play for the championship title in quarter-finals, semi-finals and finals, with the quarter-finals in a maximum of three games (best of three), the semi-finals in a maximum of five games (best of five) and the final be decided in a maximum of seven games (best of seven).
