Šime Bajlo

Šime Bajlo (* 1938 in Zadar ) is a former cyclist from the former Yugoslavia and national champion in cycling .

Athletic career

He started cycling in 1953 and remained a competitive athlete for 12 years until 1966. As a junior he won three national titles. In 1963 he won the road race for the Yugoslav championship, later further championship titles in various disciplines, including on the track. He started for the local club BK Zadar, later for Partizan Belgrade, in order to be able to drive international races. For the Yugoslav national team he drove the Tour of Tunisia , won a stage of the Tour of Bulgaria in 1962 and was also at the start of the International Peace Tour in 1962 (in which he retired).

Professional

After his career he worked in his own bicycle workshop and also worked as a youth trainer.
