Žarko Marković (born June 1, 1986 in Cetinje , Yugoslavia ) is a handball player who first represented Montenegro and then Qatar internationally .

The 2.01 meter tall and 97 kilogram heavy right back player played for the Hungarian handball club KC Veszprém from 2006 to 2009 and won the Hungarian championship twice, the Hungarian Cup twice and the European Cup Winners' Cup in 2007/08 . In the 2011/12 season he was under contract with RK Metalurg Skopje , won the Macedonian championship and scored 62 goals in the EHF Champions League .

In the 2012/13 season Marković played for the German Bundesliga club Frisch Auf Göppingen , then he moved to HSV Hamburg . After HSV Hamburg was initially refused the license in June 2014, he signed a contract with the Qatari club al-Jaish . In September 2017 he moved to the Croatian first division club RK Zagreb .

Žarko Marković was in the squad of the Montenegrin national team , until December 2013 he played 30 international matches. In October 2014 it was announced that he would play for the Qatari national team at the 2015 World Cup . In 2016 he won the Asian Cup with Qatar . He also took part in the 2016 Olympic Games in Rio de Janeiro .
