action

17-year-old Jamie has certain difficulties, which are natural on the one hand, but catastrophic on the other: he lacks the “certain trick” of getting together with girls, even though he is nice, fresh, intelligent and handsome. The mini-ladies of his acquaintance obviously like him, but when it comes to "towing away a bee", he is left behind.

In the film it becomes clear that Jamie's problem isn't really a problem at all; because after the first stupid failures the boy does so well in business that he wonders where his dreams still have a place, with so much willingness on the part of the girls, and he casts a pensive eye on the slightly prudish Claire who is him seems to promise more lasting joys. After experiencing a disappointment with her too, he concentrates again on his training.

criticism

The lexicon of international films does not have a good opinion of the strip: “Smoothly manufactured industrial product that is neither continuously amusing nor can be taken seriously as a reflection of youthful behavior.” In contrast, the Protestant film observer comes to a completely different judgment: “Actually a very frivolous piece of film, with an all too staid 'morality' that we don't want to complain about, but that appears attached. The film is colorful, poppy, appealingly light, even in the sloppy dialogues, and presented in a pleasantly casual manner by the natural young actors. Amusing to look at because of his friendly self-portrayal of the sex problems of adolescents. "

music

The Spencer David Group's theme song Here we go round the Mulberry Bush became a hit for the Traffic group .
