(10041) Parkinson is an asteroid of the main belt , which from the 24 April 1985 American US astronomers Carolyn and Eugene Shoemaker at Palomar Observatory ( IAU code 675) in California was discovered.
The asteroid was named on September 21, 2002 after the American aerospace engineer , university professor , business manager and former colonel in the US Air Force Bradford W. Parkinson (* 1935), who is considered the father of the Global Positioning System (GPS).
