(2137) Priscilla ( 1936 QZ ; 1939 BR ; 1950 BD ; 1951 GY ; 1970 QM 1 ; 1971 TX 2 ; 1979 DL ; A905 CJ ) is an asteroid of the outer main belt that was discovered on August 24, 1936 by Karl Wilhelm Reinmuth at the State observatory Heidelberg-Königstuhl was discovered.

designation

The asteroid was named after the astronomer Priscilla Fairfield Bok (1896–1975). With her husband, the astronomer Bart J. Bok , she researched for over 40 years, first at the Harvard College Observatory , then at the Mount Stromlo Observatory and the Steward Observatory, and shorter periods in other places. She has taught astronomy at Smith College , Wellesley College, and Connecticut College .
