(2418) Voskovec-Werich ( 1971 UV ; 1973 DJ ; 1976 SR 6 ; 1979 KV ) is an approximately twelve-kilometer asteroid of the outer main belt that was discovered on October 26, 1971 by the Czech (then: Czechoslovakia ) astronomer Luboš Kohoutek at the Hamburger Observatory in Hamburg-Bergedorf ( IAU code 029) was discovered. It belongs to the Themis family, a group of asteroids named after (24) Themis .

designation

(2418) Voskovec-Werich was named after Jiří Voskovec (1905–1981) and Jan Werich (1905–1980), who were Czech actors and playwrights. They became famous for several plays and reviews in the 1930s. Together they founded the Osvobozené divadlo , an avant-garde theater.
