(261) Prymno is an asteroid of the main asteroid belt , which on 31 October 1886 by Christian Heinrich Friedrich Peters at the observatory of Clinton ( United States was discovered).

The heavenly body was named after the nymph Prymno , a daughter of Oceanus and Tethys from Greek mythology .

Prymno moves at a distance of 2.1221 ( perihelion ) to 2.5407 ( aphelion ) astronomical units in 3.5599 years around the sun . The orbit is inclined 3.6352 ° to the ecliptic , the orbital eccentricity is 0.0898.
