(2785) Sedov is an asteroid of the main belt that was discovered on August 31, 1978 by the Russian astronomer Nikolai Stepanowitsch Tschernych at the Crimean Observatory in Nautschnyj ( IAU code 095).
The asteroid is a member of the Koronis family, a group of asteroids named after (158) Koronis .
(2785) Sedov was named after the Russian naval lieutenant and polar explorer Georgi Jakowlewitsch Sedow (1877–1914), who died while trying to reach the North Pole during the march near Rudolf Island .
