(3062) Wren is an asteroid of the main belt , which on 14 December 1982 by the American astronomer Edward LG Bowell at the Anderson Mesa Station ( IAU code 688) of the Lowell Observatory in Coconino County was discovered.

The asteroid belongs to the Eos family, a group of asteroids, which typically have large semiaxes from 2.95 to 3.1 AU , bounded inward by the Kirkwood gap of the 7: 3 resonance with Jupiter , and orbital inclinations between 8 ° and 12 °. The group is named after the asteroid (221) Eos . The family is believed to have emerged from a collision more than a billion years ago.

(3062) Wren was named after the British architect and astronomer Christopher Wren (1632-1723), co-founder of the Royal Society and builder of St Paul's Cathedral in London .
