(31032) Scheidemann is an asteroid of the main belt , which on 20 April 1996 by the Belgian astronomer Eric Walter Elst at the La Silla Observatory of the European Southern Observatory in Chile ( IAU code was discovered 809).

The asteroid was named on October 8, 2014 after the German composer , organist and music teacher Heinrich Scheidemann (around 1596–1663), who was organist at Hamburg's Katharinenkirche from 1629 until his death and is regarded as a co-founder of the North German Organ School .
