(3693) Barringer is a asteroid of the main belt , the American US on 15 September 1982 by the astronomer Edward LG Bowell at the Anderson Mesa Station ( IAU code 688) of the Lowell Observatory in Coconino County was discovered.
The asteroid was named after the American geologist Daniel Barringer (1860–1929), who was the first to prove the existence of a meteor crater on Earth.
