(6216) San Jose is an asteroid of the main belt , which on 30 September 1975 by the American astronomer scolding John bus at the Palomar Observatory ( IAU code 675) was discovered.

The asteroid was named after the Californian city ​​of San José at the southern end of San Francisco Bay .
