- After the death of Antiochus VII , his brother Demetrios II took over the rule of the Seleucid Empire again .
- The Roman troops defeat Aristonikos , the illegitimate son of Eumenes II. The Pergamene Empire falls to Rome. The Romans form the province of Asia from the empire .
- 129/128 BC Chr. Alexander II. Zabinas is raised against Demetrios II with the support of the Egyptian king Ptolemaios VIII . To the counter-king of the Seleucid Empire. Ptolemy, who at the time was in exile in Cyprus and waging a civil war against his sister wife Cleopatra II , passed him off as the adopted son of Antiochus VII, who had recently fallen in the fight against the Parthians , or as the son of Alexander I Balas . Alexander takes power in Antiocheia , Apamea and other Syrian cities.
