40 meter tape

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The 40 meter band or 7 MHz band covers the frequencies from 7.0 MHz to 7.2  MHz in ITU regions 1 and 3 and the range from 7.0 MHz to 7.3 MHz in shortwave ITU region 2. It is primarily assigned to the amateur radio service and named after the approximate wavelength .

Propagation conditions

This band enables long-distance connections ( DX ) from late afternoon to early morning as well as short-range connections using NVIS during the day, especially during times of high solar activity . Due to the good propagation conditions - albeit attenuated by the D-layer during the day - it is also known as the "European band".
