60 meter tape

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The 60 meter band is an amateur radio band in the frequency range from 5250 to 5450 kilohertz . It belongs to the shortwave range . The name is derived from the approximate wavelength of the area.

Spread

It is suitable for establishing NVIS connections both during the day and at night . Due to the short range and the propagation via sky waves , these are particularly suitable for regional emergency radio even in hilly terrain .

60 meter amateur band

Usually amateur bands are assigned internationally by the VO Funk . In the case of the 60-meter tape, the approval is tentatively and still very different at national level, based on a recommendation by the International Telecommunication Union . In accordance with a recommendation by WRC-12, the World Radio Conference 2015 approved a global assignment of the 60-meter band. The range allocated for the amateur radio service should be between 5351.5 and 5366.5 kHz, with an equivalent isotropic radiation power of up to 15 watts EIRP.

Band plan

The amateur radio - band plan sees the IARU region 1 as follows:

Frequency range Max. Bandwidth use
5.3515-5.3540 MHz 200 Hz CW, narrow band digimode.
5.354-5.366 MHz 2700 Hz All modes, USB recommended for phoning
5.366-5.3665 MHz 20 Hz Weak signals digimodes - narrow band

In order to enable the maximum number of four simultaneous SSB connections in Phonie in the narrow allocation of the 60 meter band , the DARC recommends using the frequencies 5354, 5357, 5360 and 5363 kHz in USB .

Germany

With the Communication No. 1699/2016 published by the Federal Network Agency on December 20, 2016 , the recommendation of the WRC-12 was implemented in national law. Holders of the license to participate in the Class A amateur radio service will be allocated the frequency range 5351.5–5366.5 kHz on a secondary basis. The maximum permissible radiated power is 15 watts EIRP with a maximum transmission bandwidth of 2.7 kHz.
