20 meter tape

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The 20 meter amateur radio band extends from 14.0 MHz to 14.35  MHz . The name is derived from the approximate wavelength of this frequency range. It is the classic wide area band ( DX band ). In the sunspot maximum , it can be used almost around the clock, so that radio connections with all continents are possible. In the sunspot minimum, however, the 20-meter tape can only be used during the day or until the early evening hours, and sometimes even fails completely. The dead zone is often larger than 1000 kilometers.
