17 meter tape

As a 17-meter band refers to the frequency range of 18.068 MHz to 18.168  MHz . It's in the short wave spectrum and is a WARC band . The name is derived from the approximate wavelength of this frequency range.

Propagation conditions

The spreads of this DX band are similar to the 15 meter band . In the sunspot maximum , DX connections are almost always possible. If the number of sunspots is low, connections are only possible occasionally during the day. Disturbances from the atmosphere are rather rare.
