As a 4-millimeter band is called the frequency range from 75.5 to 81.5  GHz . It is in the microwave spectrum . The name is derived from the approximate wavelength of this frequency range. This frequency range is assigned to the amateur radio service. In addition, the 76 to 78 GHz sub-range is assigned to the amateur radio service via satellites .
