Andrea Joy Cook
Andrea Joy "AJ" Cook (born July 22, 1978 in Oshawa , Ontario ) is a Canadian actress .
life and career
AJ Cook started dancing at the age of four and decided to become an actress at 17. She was inspired to act, among other things, by the film Dirty Dancing .
Her first appearance as an actress had Cook in 1997 in a McDonald's - commercial . In 1999 she got a role in the movie The Virgin Suicides . After a leading role in the short-lived television series Higher Ground in 2000, she was mainly seen in horror films in the following years . So she played leading roles in Ripper - Letter from Hell and Final Destination 2 . In 2003 she was one of the regular cast of the mystery series Tru Calling - Schicksal reloaded! which was also discontinued after a short time. From 2005 to 2010 she starred in the CBS - crime series Criminal Minds as "JJ" a major role. In April 2011, she re-signed a contract for Criminal Minds , returning to the seventh season in the same role. In March 2012 she got a role in the found footage horror thriller Wer - Das Biest In Dir , which was directed by William Brent Bell in Bucharest .
In 2018 she directed the 14th season of Criminal Minds in episode 13 Lonely Hearts for the first time.
Cook has been married to her long-time boyfriend, Nathan Andersen, since August 3, 2001, whom she met while at Utah Valley University . They have two sons together who were born in 2008 and 2015.
She is a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints .
