history

Lenz & Co. procured eight locomotives from the Vulcan for the Altdamm-Colberger Railway it operates .

The locomotive No. 1 was handed over to the Wismar-Rostock Railway in 1888 . There it was given the number 15. After the takeover of this railway company by the Grand Ducal Friedrich-Franz-Eisenbahn , the machine was classified in the class XIV and received the track number 124. From 1895 it got the track number 515 and from 1910 on the class T 2 sorted. In 1914 it was retired.

The remaining locomotives came to the Prussian State Railways with the nationalization of the Altdamm-Colberger Railway. They were given the numbers 1641 to 1647 at the Stettin Railway Directorate. The 1641 locomotive was handed over to the Casekow – Penkun – Oder railway in 1906 . It was used there as number 7 until 1917.

In the designation plan valid from 1906, the locomotives were sorted into the class T 2 and the number range Stettin 6010 to 6014. The locomotive 4 a (Stettin 1643, 6011) was transferred to the Elberfeld Railway Directorate in 1908, where it was given the number 6001. The locomotives that remained with the Prussian railways were decommissioned by 1910.

Constructive features

The locomotives had an internal sheet metal frame. The long boiler consisted of two shots. The steam dome with the safety valve sat on the front part of the boiler.

The external, horizontally arranged two-cylinder wet steam engine worked on the rear wheelset. The valve boxes were attached above the cylinders. The external Allan control had crossed eccentric rods.

The suspension was provided by leaf spring packages above the axle sets. The grinder air brake acted on both sides of the rear wheel set.

The sandpit sat on the rear boiler section and sanded between both axles. The coal supply was housed in containers in front of the driver's cab. The water boxes in front of it reached up to the smoke chamber .
