Athlitikos Omilos Thiras ( Greek Αθλητικός Όμιλος Θήρας , short: AO Thiras , Α.Ό. Θήρας ) is a Greek women's volleyball club based in Santorini , which has belonged to the highest Greek division, the A1 Ethniki, since 2015.

history

Athlitikos Omilos Thiras was founded in 2012 and within two years reached the top division of the Greek championship, the A1 Ethnikī. The club won the championship of the second Greek league in 2014. In the 2014/15 season, the team finished fifth in the highest Greek league, in the following season they reached the championship final, which was lost to Olympiakos SFP . With the runner-up title, the team qualified for the CEV-Pokal 2016/17 , in which they were eliminated in the round of 16.

In 2018 and 2019, AO Thiras took third place in the Greek championship and was given the right to start the Challenge Cup . In the 2018/19 season, AO Thiras lost the quarter-finals against Aydın BBSK , and in the 2019/20 season the club was eliminated in the quarter-finals against Dresdner SC .
