The Azienda Trasporti Provinciali shortly ATP , is a corporation registered overland transport companies in the Italian metropolitan city of Genoa . In addition to the 67 municipalities of the metropolitan city of Genoa, the public transport company also connects municipalities in the Ligurian neighboring provinces of Savona ( Varazze , Urbe ) and the province of La Spezia ( Maissana , Varese Ligure , Carro , Moneglia , Deiva Marina , Framura , Bonassola and Levanto ) . ATP also offers interregional bus connections to Ottone ( Province of Piacenza ), Bedonia ( Province of Parma ) and Arquata Scrivia ( Province of Alessandria ).
history
The company was founded on December 21, 2005 when the two largest public transport companies in Genoa , Tigullio Pubblici Trasporti SpA and Autolinee Liguri Provincia di Genova SpA (ALI), merged into one large company. Both companies operated mainly in the Ligurian capital and its province.
The Tigullio Pubblici Trasporti SpA was already previously been in the hands of the provincial government and had its transport routes mostly on Golfo Paradiso , in Tigullio and hinterland of Chiavari - here in the first place in Val Fontanabuona , Val Graveglia , Val Petronio , Valle Sturla and Val d'Aveto .
The ALI emerged in 2003 from AMT Extra , the large parent company AMT . The AMT Extra had been responsible for the extra-urban connections in the Greater Genoa.
The enterprise
The shareholders of the joint stock company are the metropolitan city of Genoa with 66.16% and the province of La Spezia with 3.30% and the municipalities of Chiavari (8.98%), Rapallo (7.12%), Sestri Levante (6.86%) , Lavagna (4.05%) and Santa Margherita Ligure (3.53%).
455 people are employed at ATP. The route network has a total length of around 1700 kilometers on which the company's 275 intercity buses operate. The mean age of the fleet is around eight years. An average of 27,000 passengers are transported every day, around 10,000,000 annually.
